SAMUT PRAKAN: A female driver was injured and trapped when a truck with a load of earth capsized and crashed her car on Thepharak Road in Muang District on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred on the section exiting Thepharak Road in front of Nam Daeng Market at around 1:30 p.m.
The truck and its load landed directly above a white Toyota Altis sedan registered in Bangkok. Two lanes exiting the road were closed so rescuers could get the injured driver out of the flattened car.
It took them over half an hour, using hydraulic jaws, to extract the unconscious woman.
She was rushed to the local Synphaet hospital.
She was later identified as Kamollak, 39, and pronounced dead in hospital on Monday evening.
Poll Lt. Col. Wiset Pumpuang of Sam Rong Nua Station said the truck drove the car, hit a bridge and capsized on the car. The 40-year-old truck driver was arrested.
